MPAQ has a FREE member service which provides a HR consultation up to 2 hours per member with one of our dedicated HR team members. The consultation can either be in person or online. The HR Advisor will discuss the many aspects of HR within your business that you may be uncertain about or you may need further clarification on which may reduce the risks to your business. Some of the HR area that the Advisor will assist with are:

• Employment contracts
• Awards and terms and conditions of employment including wage rates relevant to the Plumbing industry
• Policies and procedures
• Performance management issues
• Terminating staff
• Workplace obligations such as Superannuation, WorkCover etc
• Taking on new employees including apprentices
• Training specific to your business in relation to HR

Following the consultation some of the outcomes may include:

• Introduction of employment contracts or the revision of your current employment contracts
• Introduction of policies and procedures or the revision of your current policies and procedures
• A greater understanding of Award provisions and entitlements including wages
• A clearer process for managing under performance and termination
• Clarity on additional HR entitlements
