2024 Easter Public Holidays Notice

As Easter approaches, we want to inform you that Queensland will observe four (4) public holidays during the Easter long weekend:
- Friday 29 March 2024 - Good Friday
- Saturday 30 March 2024 – The day after Good Friday
- Sunday 31 March 2024 - Easter Sunday
- Monday 1 April 2024 – Easter Monday
Regarding payroll matters, permanent (full-time and part-time) employees are entitled to ordinary rates of pay for public holidays that fall on their regular workdays.
Should any employees be scheduled to work on these public holidays, in accordance with the Plumbing and Fire Sprinklers Award 2020, they are eligible for penalty rates equivalent to double time and a half (250%) for a minimum of four (4) hours.
As a reminder, if an employee calls in sick the day prior or following a public holiday, the employer can request the employee to provide a medical certificate in accordance with Section 107 of the Fair Work Act 2009.
